I visited Moraine Lake in the seventees when I spent a summer backpacking in the Canadian Rockies, It is one of the most beautiful lakes that I have ever seen. It is the most incredible shade of azure blue. Apparently this color is due to the refraction of light off of the rock dust that is deposited into the lake on a continual basis by surrounding glaciers.
