Sometimes up north where I live the water is so still it becomes a mirror and sometimes the clouds are wild and unreal looking especially before a storm. I've taken photos that look like paintings the colors are so unearthly. I wanted to convey the deep purples and strange blues in this painting. Right after sunset just before it gets dark... It is my favorite time.
